Qua bảng các thống kê này chúng ta có thể hình dung quy mô hội thảo lần
thứ ba vượt xa cả hai lần Hội thảo trước cả về số lượng các tiểu ban và số báo cáo
được trình bày. Về số lượng các tiểu ban, nghĩa là những nội dung chuyên môn
được Hội thảo quan tâm, tăng 20% so với lần một và 80% so với lần hai. Về số

lượng báo cáo trong lần hội thảo cũng tăng 34% so với lần một và 68% so với lần
hai (tuy nhiên trong đó số báo cáo của người nước ngoài lần này chỉ bằng 98,15%
của lần một và tăng 53,85% so với lần hai). Về chất lượng các báo cáo còn tuỳ
thuộc vào đánh giá của các chuyên gia, nhưng theo quan sát của chúng tôi thì lần
này nhìn chung các báo cáo được chuẩn bị công phu hơn, bám sát vào chủ đề và yêu
cầu của Hội thảo, được tuyển chọn và biên tập kỹ hơn các lần trước. Nhiều báo cáo
đã đi đúng vào những vấn đề rất mới, rất cấp bách của đời sống kinh tế, xã hội, văn
hoá, giáo dục, luật pháp, quan hệ quốc tế, tài nguyên môi trường, phân tích và đánh
giá sâu sắc những cơ hội và thách thức của Việt Nam trong quá trình Hội nhập và
phát triển. Đây là cuộc Hội thảo khoa học quốc tế về Việt Nam học được tổ chức
một cách bài bản, với những yêu cầu và nội dung cụ thể và trên quy mô lớn nhất từ
trước đến nay. Chúng tôi hy vọng kết quả của cuộc Hội thảo sẽ không chỉ góp phần
cung cấp những hiểu biết khách quan, khoa học, toàn diện và xác thực về Việt Nam,
phục vụ hiệu quả cho mục tiêu Hội nhập và Phát triển của Việt Nam, mà còn trực
tiếp nâng cao chất lượng nghiên cứu và đào tạo về Việt Nam học ở cả trong nước và
quốc tế, khảng định vai trò trung tâm của Việt Nam học Việt Nam.
